What if I told you there was a product that could be sold for 40% less then existing competition but still generate 80%+ gross profit margins?

I know most would probably say too good to be true.

These numbers though is what makes 3d printing so powerful when it comes to selling products. The key is selling the right products though.

This is where our new “MagSquares” desk organization system comes into play.

We launched this product to be a direct competitor to the very popular wood catch all trays you see on Etsy. Many of which are selling for $100+ for a 3 pack! and often times still has the “Etsy Pick” or “Bestseller” Tag.

As 3D printing sellers though there is a cold hard truth we all need to come to terms with.

3D printed products just aren’t ever going to feel as good in your hand as solid wood ones.

However, we can do things to counter balance this while also giving us a competitive edge which is what we did with the MagSquares.

1. Price:

   We get to be wayyyy more competitive on price. Wood products are great, but they are labor intensive especially when it comes to the finish work of sanding, staining, and sealing.

2. Design Features:

   We aren’t going to ever be as premium as wood however we can do some design features that allow us to get close.

Ultimately what we end with is a 4 piece Starter Pack that can be printed in 4 hours with a total cost of goods at $3.68.

This allows us to enter the market at a 40% discount (or more if you want) compared to our “wood” competition. White still generating a 80%+ Profit Margin.

At the end of the day some people will still want the wood version which is completely fine. For a lot of people though the cost of $100+ for a couple catch all trays on there desk is just too much.

Enter MagSquares with our 3D printed alternative.
